Previse Coral Deployed by SEFE Marketing & Trading

Previse Coral, the next-generation Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) platform, has gone live with its initial rollout at SEFE’s trading and sourcing arm, SEFE Marketing & Trading Limited.
The launch marks the beginning of a phased replacement of SEFE’s legacy Power ETRM system, designed to improve speed, flexibility, and scalability across rapidly evolving European power markets. Previse Coral was selected for its cloud-native architecture, advanced trade capture and pricing features, multi-currency support, and open APIs that enable seamless integration, custom analytics, and continuous development.
Following the initial deployment, SEFE is now using Previse Coral to manage its European power futures business, capturing and processing thousands of trades each day for end-of-day valuations, and broker settlements. The move marks a key milestone in SEFE’s strategic technology transformation to replace legacy systems with cloud-based, scalable solutions fit for future growth.
Over the past year, Previse Systems and SEFE collaborated closely to tailor Previse Coral to SEFE’s requirements.
Key developments include:
Price exposure reports and end-of-day valuations broken out by peak and off-peak blocks for precise P&L reporting.
Multi-currency P&L reporting, giving SEFE clear visibility across diverse markets.
Ecosystem Apps for automated VAT calculation on invoices and for missing-price detection, with notifications delivered both by email and through graphical dashboards inside Coral.
Building on Coral’s API framework and Microsoft Azure architecture, SEFE has developed bespoke interfaces that allow direct trade capture from various sources and seamless transfer of valuation and settlement data into downstream systems. This provides a real-time portfolio view that enhances operational efficiency and decision-making.
With this first phase complete, SEFE’s focus now shifts to the next phase: trading European physical power (Spots and Forwards) in Coral. In parallel, development continues on advanced pricing and discounting functionality to further strengthen analytical and reporting capabilities. Additional background on the project is available in a joint SEFE and Previse presentation at the September 2025 .NET meeting in London, accessible on Previse Systems’ YouTube channel.
The Previse Coral rollout represents an important step forward in our power trading infrastructure, introducing next-generation capabilities tailored to a high-performance, digitally driven trading business. This milestone highlights Trading IT’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that empowers both strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
